Background

Atlassian sells the software teams use to plan, write down and ship work — Jira for tracking, Confluence for knowledge, Loom for async video, plus service management and adjacent tools that pull more of the enterprise into the same system. Much of the franchise now runs in cloud, with Collections bundling products and AI credits so customers standardize rather than stitch point tools together. That footprint stretches from software teams into broader business workflows where tickets, docs and decisions already live on the platform.

What investors are watching in TEAM is whether that system of work becomes the context layer for AI agents, not just a suite of familiar apps. Atlassian's Teamwork Graph connects people, projects, documents, code and third-party tools; Rovo sits on top of it so agents and assistants can act with organizational memory, permissions and audit trails. The bet is that as models commoditize, the vendor that already owns how work is recorded keeps a durable seat at the table.

Competition is real and nearby. Microsoft, ServiceNow, Salesforce and GitHub each bring their own workflow and context graphs; AI-native tools chip at individual jobs. Cloud migration still matters, but the sharper debate is expansion: whether Rovo and Collections deepen wallets and seats faster than inference costs and rival platforms dilute the franchise.

The unresolved question is whether Atlassian's work-context advantage converts into durable enterprise growth under AI — or whether the next generation of agents routes around Jira and Confluence as easily as they route through them.
